North aligning the mount is an unpleasant job, even for younger people - and all because the polar finder is straight and pointing down at a steep angle. The Omegon 90 degree angled view polar finder attachment makes the job much simpler, and guarantees no back pain.

  1. You will know this as a general rule - if you are observing in a comfortable posture, you are also able to observe objects better and you simply see more. It is a similar story with a polar finder - the attachment will give you more time for adjusting the alignment and you will benefit from a more precise north alignment of your mount.

  9. The normal 1X view the angled finder provides is a generous overview. But sometimes the central part of the image in the polar finder needs to be seen better - simply increase the magnification to 2X and you'll see a large image of what is really important.
  10. Will this angled finder fit on my mount?
  11. With its 30mm inner diameter the Omegon angled finder will fit onto the polar finder of most common mounts. This is simply achieved, with no screwing on necessary - just put it on, tighten the knurled screws and you are ready to go.

The Omegon mirror star diagonal offers you a particularly bright and high-contrast image. This is achieved by multiple vapour-deposited dielectric layers, which are very tough and hence extremely durable. The star diagonal's mirror is hence able to achieve a reflectance of 99%. Observers prefer as much light as possible - this mirror offers a much brighter image than a normal mirror with an aluminium coating.

 

The advantages of an SC thread

The mirror star diagonal's built-in SC thread saves you needing another adapter. This direct adapter lets the mirror sit closer to the OTA and allows you to swivel the OTA of a Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope on an azimuthal fork right through the zenith. Other mirror star diagonals may have clearance problems, especially with 8" SC telescopes.

The Omegon Star diagonal is the perfect accessory for all Schmidt-Cassegrain, Maksutov, ACF or similar telescopes. The usual SC thread lets you quickly and easily connect the star diagonal to the SCT. It then sits solidly and securely in your telescope. The mirror diverts the image 90° upwards to allow comfortable observing.

 

Dielectric mirror - bright, high contrast images

The Omegon Star diagonal provides exceptionally bright images with high contrast. This is achieved through multiple vapour-deposited dielectric layers, which provide a very durable and long-lasting reflecting surface. The diagonal achieves a reflectance of 99%. Observers prefer as much light as possible, and this coating provides a significantly brighter image than the usual silver or aluminium mirror.

 

The advantages of the SC-thread

The SC thread included in the diagonal saves having to use an adapter, allowing the unit to sit right at the end of the OTA. This allows you to point the OTA of Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes with an altazimuth fork at the zenith. This can be a problem with other star diagonals, particularly when used with 8" SC telescopes.
